First Stop: Bolivia
Buenos dias desde Bolivia.
It’s hard to put into words what it felt like returning to Bolivia after 6 years.
We arrived in Santa Cruz shortly before 10 PM on Saturday evening.Twelve plus hours of airports and airplanes made for a really long day.
At the airport we were met by a brother and sister who lovingly drove us to our Airbnb.
We had never met or spoken to each other before that warm greeting at the airport.
The international brotherhood is alive and real.
Now this is where you get a real sense of what life can be like in Bolivia.
We finally crawled into bed at 12:30 AM. At 12:45 AM just as we are drifting off to sleep… the loud music begins. The music continues all night long finally ending about 7 AM.
So I guess someone just needed a little music to help them sleep!
Fortunately, this is not something that happens every night. Last night it was peaceful and quiet.
One of the reasons we choose to arrive when we did was so we could attend the last day of the English Regional Convention here in Bolivia.
The warmth, love and hugs we received from the friends, whom we hadn’t seen (or even talked to in many cases) in over 6 years touched our hearts in ways we could never imagine possible.
No doubt you have probably heard me (Terry) rattle on at some point about the power of setting goals if you have spent much time with us.
Back when we lived in Nevada we became really good friends with Oscar and Ilce.
Oscar is from Bolivia and shared many wonderful things about where he was born and raised.
At one point they spent a month in Bolivia and came back with a video about how great the need was in Bolivia. The video was in Spanish and we didn’t understand a word of it.
We knew we had to go someday… together.
Oscar and Ilce moved to Bolivia a little over a year ago.
After the convention, we spent the afternoon and evening with Oscar and Ilce enjoying a meal and our friendship together… in Bolivia.
The power of a goal friends.
Never underestimate what Jehovah can accomplish if you put it in his hands, even when at times it might seem impossible or could never happen.
Mathew 19:26 Looking at them intently, Jesus said to them: “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
