Life in Santa Cruz
Buenas días… everyone.
It’s early spring here in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and the high temperature for today is forecast to be 96.
Monday through Wednesday of next week the high temperatures are expected to be 100-101 degrees.
Santa Cruz is a large city with a population of 2.4 million people (2020). I think they might have forgotten to count a few people though.
So besides hot, what is it like here in Santa Cruz?
It is in fact a city that has many modern features and is growing.
There is an abundance of shopping, grocery stores, restaurants and businesses of all sorts.
Public transportation is also available and easy to access and use.
Although I’ve never been too crazy about the little buses 🚌 that are commonly used for public transportation here.
We took an Uber from the mall to our Airbnb a couple of days ago and the cost was only $1.60.
Yes, the city does have many different malls. Very big malls with food courts that are huge.
When we lived here in 2017-18, it was not uncommon for half (or more) of the congregation to head to the food court in one of the malls to eat after the Public Talk / Watchtower on the weekend.
There is no shortage of things to do and see here in the city.
The last two days we have walked everywhere with the exception of the Uber to the mall.
